Exploration of energy-saving standard transformation for pumping unit motors

2019-10-14

An electric motor is a device that converts electrical energy into mechanical energy. The energy consumption of an electric motor mainly refers to the loss and waste of electrical energy during the process of converting electrical energy into mechanical energy for work. Belongs to the energy conversion efficiency issue of the electric motor itself in non-standard environments. When the motor is unloaded, it does not make any beneficial contribution to the conversion of mechanical energy. Although the motor has no efficiency, it still consumes power! In the actual production process, the efficiency of electric motors varies continuously from 0% to the vast majority of rated power, and it is necessary to rely on technological means to improve the actual energy utilization efficiency. Through technological means to save energy, the motor can achieve economic operation under different working conditions.

For a long time, the electric motor used on the pumping unit in oil production in the oilfield has been equipped with an impact variable load due to the structure of the beam pumping unit itself and geological reasons of the oil layer. In order to ensure the stable operation of the electric motor and safe production, the electric motor is equipped according to the maximum power required for the pumping unit to do work. In addition, the impact of the "generator effect of electric motors" on the original power under special operating conditions in oil fields has seriously damaged the quality of power supply in the power grid

Due to the waste of electricity, most of the electric motors used on the pumping unit are operating under light load, with some operating under no-load conditions. The actual efficiency of the electric motor only reaches 20% -30%, resulting in significant energy waste.
